Wall Clocks With MostFit™ Resistance Loop

What separates humans from many other animals is the insane range of motion that we have at our shoulder joint.  When you go to put your peanut butter on the top shelf in your kitchen, or push 200 pounds over your head, that “shoulder” movement is actually a composite movement of mainly your glenohumeral joint and your scapulothoracic joint.  Your acromioclavicular and sternoclavicular joints are also involved but to a much lesser extent. 

At Home Resistance Training Exercises With Benefits 

In order to keep a healthy, pain-free, and strong shoulder, you need to make sure that you are training the muscles that help facilitate movement at both your glenohumeral and scapulothoracic joints. These wall clocks can be performed using the MostFit™ Resistance Loop in various degrees of upper extremity weight-bearing and will recruit your rotator cuff and many of the scapulothoracic muscles, such as your middle/lower trapezius and serratus anterior.  This is a must do exercise for anyone who has shoulder pain, or who can’t make those heavy lifts because of a weak link shoulder.

I love there versatility of these of MostFit™ Resistance Bands. Their application is especially useful in bumping up the intensity of regular body-weight exercises.  Try this exercise as an active rest break during your strength circuit, or superset the hops after a heavy leg exercise for full quad burnout. Your goal is to try to get yourself as far away from the anchor post with each hop.

Assisted Pistol Squat Exercise Using MostFit™ Suspension Strap

The pistol squat is what separates the men from the boys (and women from the girls….)  If you can’t do them, you may be lacking sufficient lower extremity strength, range of motion, motor control, and/or all of the above.  For those who are lacking adequate strength, or have problems balancing or controlling the movement through the full range of motion, the MostFit™ Suspension Straps can assist you.  The nice thing is that you can control how much assistance your upper extremities are giving you.  Doing the assisted pistol squat is the best way to gradually build up the strength and motor control to perform one unassisted.  If you can already perform one or two unassisted, but then burnout, use the straps to help you build up to a set of 10.

Check out this row exercise with The MostFit™ Resistance Tube. The row exercise is one of my favorite postural exercises that I give to most of my patients that suffer from neck, back, or shoulder pain.  Computer posture - that crappy posture people have who regularly spend more than a few hours in front of the computer - puts our scapulae in a protracted position.  In this position, our rhomboids and mid traps are lengthened, and have a hard time firing optimally.  A stronger mid-back helps give you the ability to spend hours in front of the computer with better posture.  Combine rows with “W’s” for more postural muscle strength and endurance training.
